Went to Navy Pier last night and had an all round American experience which included beer, fireworks, hotdogs and funnle cake.
The hotdogs are the 'San Francisco' and the 'Richmond', the latter being covered in mac and cheese.
Funnel cake is a strange thing to describe. Essentially it's fried batter. But so much more.

This is the Chicago branch of 826 Valencia, a not for profit that teaches kids from deprived areas how to write good like what I does.
Look them up. They're wonderful.

The backs of houses. I expect Ferris will be jumping over these fences any second now...

Just taking a moment to hide from the 35 degree heat of Wickerpark to have an Arnold Palmer in Filter Cafe with its lovely free WiFi. I do like some tasty free internets.
Arnold Palmer is iced tea with lemonade. Sounds foul but is gorgeous, especially on a steaming day like today.

These signs are everywhere on the El stations and the buskers are actually good! (except the one who sang 'Wonderwall' this morning. Actually she was pretty good too)

Advert on the El seemed to remind me of a tale of someone we know. Maybe I imagined the story of a naked Scotsman. Seems like something I'd do.

Well thanks to Jet2 and their incompetence we have just stood for over an hour at a bag drop. We checked in online to save time. Mistake. Those checking in at the airport zoomed past us. They can afford to take their time though, as we have a 4 hour delay.
SSP has achieved below its usual low standard with completely cold toast, hence its position on the cup in the picture.
Time to slide into airport time...
